Ms. Hamel’s practice is concentrated on private equity, venture capital, emerging company representation, general corporate matters and mergers and acquisitions. Ms. Hamel's clients include private equity firms, public and private companies, emerging companies, and individual investors. Ms. Hamel advises her clients on corporate and securities law matters, including day-to-day corporate counseling, investments, mergers, acquisitions, sale of assets, private placements, employment, noncompetition, consulting and nondisclosure and assignment of invention agreements. Ms. Hamel joined the firm in 2008.
Prior to joining BRL Law Group LLC, Ms. Hamel was an associate at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP and Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge LLP and then outside general counsel for BioSystem Solutions, Inc. and Ticket Technology Holding Company, L.L.C. Ms. Hamel continues to represent BioSystem Solutions and Ticket Technology Holding Company at the firm. Ms. Hamel was chosen as a "Massachusetts Rising Star" by Law & Politics and Boston Magazine in 2005 in the area of Securities and Corporate Finance and in 2006 and 2007 in the area of Business and Corporate.
Ms. Hamel received her J.D. degree from George Washington University School of Law and received her B.S., magna cum laude, from Lesley College.
Ms. Hamel is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maryland and Washington, DC.
